The Italienisch-Werkstatt,is a school specialised in the Italian language with a programme of group courses, individual lessons and company training for all levels. Students in Berlin can visit one of our two locations there, but thanks to our wide range of online courses, we also provide lessons anywhere with an internet connection.
Our qualified team has been working successfully for more than 16 years, generating enthusiasm for the Italian language and culture. Our teachers are native Italian speakers and academics and have many years experience in designing and organising Italian online courses.
Another quality feature of our courses: small groups! The maximum number of participants is always limited to seven, so that every participant is always actively involved in the lesson.

Live online courses for everyone
Do you want to learn Italian effectively? The live online courses of the Italienisch-Werkstatt make it possible. Simply use your computer, tablet or smartphone and with just a few clicks you can communicate with your teacher and the other participants as if you were in a real classroom.
We generally use the Zoom platform for our live online courses. The didactics of the course instructors are geared towards the online format and are based on teaching material specially designed for the internet.

Our Italian courses: like a real "Italian workshop"
Our name, ‘Laboratorio di lingua italiana’, reflects our concept: language courses as a place where students work on the language, play with it and shape it. Our lessons are structured in such a way that they cover learning and practising the four central skills: Listening and reading comprehension, as well as active speaking and writing.
What you will learn in our lessons:
- Vocabulary and expressions useful for coping with everyday situations and, depending on the level, for discussing topical issues.
- Grammar: clear explanations and exercises to internalise and consolidate syntactic structures.
- Conversation in small groups or in pairs: Zoom's breakout rooms make it possible to divide the class into small, separate conversation groups. This creates a relaxed learning environment and enables intensive, realistic language practice.
- Lesson notes and supplementary materials: At the end of each lesson, all participants receive a file created by the teacher with an overview of the content covered (grammar and vocabulary) as well as all additional didactic materials used in class.
For our teachers, the language structure and conversation are equally important. The use of ‘authentic’ reading materials are also intended to stimulate interactive speaking.
More than just courses: the Club di conversazione di italiano and the podcast
For many participants, a standard course is not enough to gain confidence in a spoken language. That's why the online Club di conversazione, in collaboration with the Italienisch-Werkstatt, offers various opportunities and tools to intensify speaking practice and, above all, to stimulate verbal communication: Podcasts - with transcripts! - as well as video lessons, infographics and reading texts: all organised by language level. A highlight of the online channel are the additional weekly conversation events, which offer participants the opportunity to practise interactive, situation-based speaking free of inhibitions.
Online lessons for companies
Of course, we also offer our online Italian courses for companies or as ‘Business Italian’ (with training in specialised vocabulary). Talk to us about it, we will be happy to prepare a customised course for your employees!
