Assessment tests: How good is your Italian?
The Italienisch-Werkstatt offers two options for taking an Italian assessment test:
- Online assessment test (free of charge): You can use the digital assessment test to find out what language level you have. Once you have completed the test, you will automatically receive an evaluation. We will discuss the result with you to find the right Italian course for you.
- Traditional assessment test: You take this test in our Italian workshop and we'll discuss the results in detail to find the right course for you.
You will find information on the tests, our assessment service and how to register for our classroom courses or for our online courses below.

Italian test and language assessment
If you would like a detailed assessment of your Italian language skills, a more personal assessment test at our school is just right for you. This is followed by a thorough discussion of the results. For students who want to book individual lessons, we plan additional counselling in order to define the learning objectives and draw up a curriculum.
The personalised Italian assessment test takes 60-75 minutes and costs 25,- Euro.
We also offer the option of a short free language counselling (15 min.) with us. Simply make an appointment for an assessment of your language level and to receive more information about your Italian language course.
What do you learn from an Italian assessment test?
Your language level is assessed according to the criteria of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). This system categorises your knowledge of Italian according to four skills: written and oral comprehension and written and oral expression. From the list of the different language levels you can visit the page of the respective level for more information.
