Educational leave in Berlin
Every two years, employees in Berlin are entitled to two weeks of paid educational leave. Employees under 25 are even entitled to two weeks of paid educational leave per calendar year. The entitlement to educational leave is compensated by taking part in recognised training during a period requested by the employer. The content of this training does not have to be directly related to work.

Educational leave courses in a group
As foreign language skills often bring not only personal but also professional benefits, educational holidays at language schools have become increasingly popular in recent years. The Italienisch-Werkstatt offers courses recognised as further training by the state of Berlin and that fulfil all the conditions for educational leave.
All our educational leave language courses comprise 30 teaching units of 45 minutes each per week (6 teaching units of 45 minutes each per day). You learn daily between 9.30 and 12.45 (with a 15-minute break) and from 13:30 to 15:00.
The courses all take place as face-to-face lessons at our premises in Goßlerstr. 10 in 12161 Berlin-Friedenau.
We recommend course registration at least six weeks before the start of the course. As a rule, you must apply to your employer for educational leave six weeks before the start of the course. We recommend that you discuss this in detail with your employer.
The Course contents are identical to those of our standard courses, the language level categorisation corresponds to the European Framework of Reference for Languages.
Educational leave courses as individual lessons
The Italienisch-Werkstatt is also recognised by the state of Berlin for educational leave as courses for individual students. Each course takes place as a one-to-one lesson and you can choose between Online and face-to-face teaching.

Wichtig: Please note the following when applying for educational leave: The price for the educational leave is only payable after confirmation by the employer! You do not have to pay at this stage. Book your educational leave now and receive directly an application for submission with your employer. We need this letter signed and returned by the start of your educational leave. If your employer does not allow you to take educational leave, you can cancel your registration free of charge up to 14 days before the start of the course. If we do not receive this cancellation in time, we will charge a cancellation fee of 20%..
