My career
I was born and grew up in Cagliari, Italy and studied German and English at the university there. I later worked as a research assistant at the Free University of Berlin for over ten years. In 2006, I completed my Promotion there at the Department of Political and Social Sciences, specialising in press policy in fascist Italy. During this time I published several articles in anthologies and monographs in Italy and Germany. But I also worked as an interpreter at academic conferences and trade fairs and did translation work during this time.
Both before and during my academic employment, I regularly worked as an Italian teacher. From 1990 to 2001, I gained many years of varied experience in practical language courses at various institutions (VHS Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf, VHS Mitte, Società Dante Alighieri e. V., Circolo Sardo di Berlino e. V. and the Prolog Sprachenschule Berlin).
Certificates
In 2006, I resumed my teaching activities and shortly afterwards I was awarded the state-recognised Ditals II Diploma (Certificazione di competenza didattica dell'italiano a stranieri, Università per Stranieri Siena) and the Basic qualification for teaching adults (Senate for Education, Berlin). In addition, I have been a qualified Telc examiner for Italian and am a member of the ADI (Associazione Docenti d'Italiano in Germania).
The Italian workshop project
Since 2008, I have dedicated myself entirely to my Italian workshop, which in the initial phase offered language courses, proofreading and translation work in equal measure. This exciting and varied field of work allowed me to continue to cultivate and convey my love of the Italian language in its various facets in Germany.
The combination of teaching, proofreading and translation gave me the opportunity to combine my background in the humanities with the concept of teaching Italian through my communication skills, versatility and team spirit. Due to the growth of the Italian language courses section of the workshop, I have dedicated myself exclusively to teaching and school management for several years now.
One thing is certain: Italy enthusiasts, cultural workers and companies who want to get closer to my mother tongue will find a professional, authentic and culturally relevant approach to the Italian language at the Laboratorio di Lingua Italiana.
